PLACES TO SEE
STORE BAY

Beach at store bay Are there finer beaches in Tobago than Store Bay? Probably, depending on what you're looking for. But Store Bay is in Crown Point, where there is more accommodation, catering to more differing requirements, than anywhere else on the island. From the 5-star Coco Reef hotel to guest houses to apartments. And more eating places. All within 1/2 mile of the airport than anywhere else in Tobago. So this is the best developed and probably most frequented beach.

Because there are so many people that frequent this beach, including many young families with children, and because at times it could be dangerous to the unwary, there is a lifeguard station here. The guards do an excellent job. On the sand beach there are lines of chairs you can rent if you wish. Or you can board a glass-bottommed boat for a day trip to the Buccoo reef and Nylon Pool. Perhaps too you may want to experience "pulling seine", a help the local fishermen no doubt appreciate, and are happy to reward with a fish or two, especially if they have a good catch. A full net can be very heavy.

There are steps down to the beach. If you don't feel like going on to the beach, you can sit on the benches under the tamarind trees and look out towards the sea.

But if you face the other way, there you can see the kiosks that the government has provided for the crafts vendors. There is a tourism office here too that operates the beach facilities. Added to that are the food service places that serve up some good variety of local dishes.
