"Quiet" Doesn't Mean No Night Life

Wine and Lights

Once it might have been "dead." But Tobago is undergoing an evolution. Where formerly people found their homes at nightfall - and many still do - there's a growing segment that find their enjoyment in the dimmer lights.

There may be rumblings form the Government about banning casinos. But they are increasing in number nonetheless.

Tobago Has Its Share

The most prominent among them is the Royalton Casino, situated as it is next to the Crown Point Beach Hotel. That's a hop skip and jump from the airport. Open every day from 4.00 pm, you needn't leave until 3.00 am. You can play poker, roulette, blackjack, punto blanco and other games. Or you can while away your time at Max's Bar.

The Shade

The latest night life establishment is "The Shade", on Mt.Pleasant Boulevard in Bon Accord, just off Milford Road . You wouldn't be able to miss it, since the main structure is a high building, rather like a huge tent, covered with the leaves of the karat palm that grows in the forest

"Open Wed - Sun. 8 pm till .`. ."

Sunday School

The oldest is Sunday School in the village of Buccoo. This has become famous world wide as a Sunday night affair, involving a street party participated in by tourist and locals alike.
